With the goal of accelerating the drug development process to produce real-world results and life-changing therapies, this confidential client and Fortune 500 company partnered with Flad to establish a West Coast-based research entity. Located in the heart of South San Francisco's booming biopharma sector, this interior fit-out provides approximately 62,000 square feet of leasable space designed to attract best-in-talent prospective tenants.

The Shared Innovation Center serves as an industry-wide pioneer, utilizing a novel co-working laboratory concept to foster and speed the discovery of life-changing medicines and therapies through collaboration with small, early-stage biotech companies throughout the Bay Area. All tenants have direct access to the client's leading scientists, executives, and regulatory experts, in addition to a state-of-the-art facility with cutting-edge research equipment and technology.

Spanning two floors, the new facility carefully balances modern workplace design with flexible laboratories and support space to create a robust scientific environment and platform for discovery. Thirty-four wet lab modules with movable benches can be easily customized to create larger or smaller spaces, as tenants and evolving research needs change. An abundance of multi-size gathering areas, open and private workstations, and informal break-out spaces cater to a wide range of work styles while encouraging collaboration and interaction.
