Celebrating a holistic approach to wellness

The new, 60,000-square-foot Wellbeing Center is dedicated to the health and wellness of this Fortune 500's employees, contributing to achievement of a balanced and healthy work lifestyle. The two-story facility includes a mix of functions which advance the goals of well-being by providing employees with a centralized, purpose-built location with social spaces, food service, a health clinic, recreational sports, fitness, and agile workspace.

Visitors to the Wellbeing Center are welcomed with a generously proportioned two-story entry and grand stair. The deep overhang of the canopy above creates a dramatic experience that celebrates the approach and entry of each visitor to the Center, while also providing shelter from the elements.

Recognizing the reciprocal relationship between wellness and nature, the Wellbeing Center is designed to connect to the bounty of its natural context by integrating elements from the surrounding coastal landscape, using designed spaces and places to make visual and remembered connections to the land and water with a curated use of greenery. A central courtyard brings a wind-sheltered experience of the outdoors to the literal heart of the project.

The high expanses of glass and the large open areas within the floor plan bring natural light to the interior spaces. A variety of types and sizes of space within the Center provide a wide spectrum of experiences ranging from large convivial social gatherings to smaller, more intimate interactions. Outdoor fitness and recreation areas are integrated into the landscape immediately surrounding the project, maintaining connections with both the identity of the Wellbeing Center and the campus-at-large.

Taken together, these different elements of the Wellbeing Center create an experience that celebrates a holistic approach to employee success; valuing physical, emotional, social, and psychological well-being as integral to the health of the employee community.
