Alternative Fuel Vehicle Research Lab
Energy engineering
Protecting the environment is a responsibility we all take very seriously. The design for the state-of-the-art Alternative Fuel Vehicle Research Laboratory will bring together scientists in an interdisciplinary setting. Their work will reduce motor vehicle emissions so we can all breathe cleaner air.
The building's design was inspired by the Möbius strip, a mathematical model to describe a myriad of natural and technological phenomena. The structural system is an organizing element for the configuration. In addition to being a green building, a number of sustainable features will be on display throughout the facility, including photovoltaic cells and electrical power regeneration. Inside, scientists and the community will work together to solve our energy challenges.
