Genesis Health System
East Hospital Expansion
Reimagining medical facilities
Genesis Health System did not want a bigger medical facility. They want a better one. One that meets the evolving healthcare needs of patients throughout the region. A facility that provides complex, coordinated care by teams of medical professionals working closely with one another. One that offers advanced procedures, faster, using more sophisticated equipment, in a more efficient way.
A 330-bed hospital that is split between two campuses, located 2 1/2-miles apart, Genesis needed to reimagine and reorganize its space. Reduce duplications in equipment. Consolidate services and personnel. Make seamless physical connections between patients, services, and caregivers.
With a seven-story hospital addition and renovation of the East Campus, Flad is helping Genesis make that transition. This facility includes 96 acute-care general and orthopedic surgery beds, 14 operating rooms, and an expanded post anesthesia care unit. By consolidating surgery, shorter-term acute care, and medical services on the East Campus, the health care system can focus its longer-term care and outpatient services on the West Campus.
This facility will increase efficiency dramatically, improving clinical outcomes and enhancing patient safety with a state-of-the-art medical center that will accommodate the newest technology and latest innovations. But more importantly, it will better serve the patients.
