The Flad-designed UW Health Pleasant T. Rowland Transplant Clinic has been recognized by In Business magazine with a 2023 Commercial Design Award for Best Renovation: Health Care. The Commercial Design Awards honor the best commercial design projects built in Wisconsin by local companies.

With the goal of creating a better and more streamlined experience for everyone involved in the crucial and life-giving process of organ transplantation, the Pleasant T. Rowland Transplant Clinic provides a new home for the world-class UW Health Transplant Center. By expanding transplant patient care and consolidating services in one accessible location, this innovative project enhances the patient experience and honors living donors while providing much-needed space for growth of the world-class center.
Situated prominently with direct access from the reimagined hospital entry that was designed in conjunction with the clinic, the new transplant clinic features a clean and bright design palette, an interactive art installation that pays tribute to living organ donors, and reflective glass walls that infuse the space with hope and inspiration.
