University of Wisconsin - Madison - School of Veterinary Medicine Addition and Renovation: Small Animal Clinic Reception Area

UW–Madison Veterinary Medicine Building Addition Featured in Recent Articles

The University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) expansion and renovation project was recently featured in the Wisconsin State Journal and on the UW website. The project includes the construction of a three-story north building, which opened this summer and connects to the SVM's original south building. Flad led the planning and design of the addition and equine arena as well as the renovation of approximately 35,000 square feet of the existing south clinic. The original clinic opened in 1983 and was also designed by Flad.

The SVM expansion and renovation project doubles the size of the small animal hospital, expands labs for studying naturally occurring animal and human diseases, triples the space dedicated to research labs for the study of infectious disease, and supplies much needed student collaboration and instruction areas.
