UW Health Transplant Clinic Earns Another Honor
The Flad-designed UW Health Pleasant T. Rowland Transplant Clinic has added to its growing list of awards with the Silver Touchstone Award, presented by the Center for Health Design. The Touchstone award recognizes a commitment to using the evidence-based design (EBD) process in the built environment to increase value, improve outcomes, and engage stakeholders. The EBD process is marked by three touchstones: collaboration, evaluation, and sharing.
An expert panel consisting of key industry stakeholders – academics, architects, designers, healthcare executives, planners, facility executives, patient and family advisors, and researchers – reviewed each submission.
About the project >
Flad partnered with the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics to create a more streamlined experience for everyone involved in the crucial
and life-giving process of organ transplantation. The project provides a new home and much needed space for
growth for UW Health's world-class transplant program, which was previously located in the hospital's lower
level, by moving patient care areas to a prominent location on the main floor.
