Flad-Designed Poultry Science Building Earns Construction Management Award
The University of Georgia Poultry Science Building has received a Project Achievement Award from the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) South Atlantic Chapter. The project won for the category of Higher Education New Construction Over $50 million.
Flad designed the 70,000-square-foot facility, which is the new home to the UGA poultry science department in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. McCarthy Building Companies served as construction manager for the project.
Opening in the fall of 2023, the new interdisciplinary facility supports collaboration while enhancing and expanding the quality of instruction and research. Included in the building are flexible classrooms, instructional laboratories, research laboratories, lab support spaces, and administrative offices.
