Quest Diagnostics' Regional Testing and Diagnostics Facility is the recipient of Engineering News-Record's Award for Higher Ed/Research: Best Project for 2023. Designed in collaboration with Mark Cavagnero Associates and built by Gilbane Building Company, the 250,000-square-foot regional testing lab is now one of the world's largest automated specimen testing facilities.
The design incorporates state-of-the-art elements in laboratories, lab support, business support, and mechanical systems. Reflecting Quest Diagnostic's brand, industry leadership, and innovation, the facility accounts for future growth and advancement in the life sciences market with the ability to add a third automation line and expand the main automation floor by 20,000 square feet.
This award honors the top design firms, construction companies, and projects internationally, evaluating them on safety, design quality, contribution to the industry and community, and the team's ability to overcome challenges. Winners will be recognized at the ENR New York Regional Best Projects Awards Breakfast on November 11th.
