The Gov. Juan F. Luis (JFL) Hospital and Medical Center earned a Merit Award in the Sustainability category of the Honor and Design Awards. The annual awards program is presented by AIA Tampa Bay chapter and honors top projects, people, and firms in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry in the area.
Flad collaborated with USVI stakeholders to design JFL after the only hospital on St. Croix suffered severe damage from multiple Category 4 hurricanes. The project emphasizes resiliency, sustainability, and flexibility to withstand natural disasters and will serve as a beacon of stability and hope to the residents of St. Croix and the surrounding islands.
