The ultimate goal of biotech manufacturing facilities is to produce and deliver high-quality products to patients at the lowest possible cost. Therefore, manufacturing facility planning efforts understandably focus on maximizing yields, enhancing production efficiencies, and maintaining high standards for quality control.
But what about the people actually performing the work? Too often, human-centric concerns are overshadowed by the need for process improvements and throughput capacities.
At the ISPE Annual Meeting in Orlando, Flad's Cole Brunson and Elizabeth Strutz will be joined by Cyril Buckley of Takeda as they lead a session entitled "The Human Side of Manufacturing." Highlighting Takeda's Georgia Manufacturing Facility, the presentation will demonstrate how an integrated design and planning approach, coupled with a clear vision and mission, can create efficient manufacturing environments, while also supporting the health and well-being of the staff working within them, enabling them to thrive.
The presenters will share research findings, which uncover key criteria for pharmaceutical facility architecture and planning that supports employees' health and well-being, helping to attract and retain the best talent.
