Compiled by AR's sister publication, Engineering News-Record, the figures show a growing market for major design firms that is expected to continue for the foreseeable future. The magazine's take, that design firms are focusing more on their key markets and systems to deliver their services as efficiently as possible, is consistent with Flad's strategy, which remains focused on the firm's core markets of healthcare, academic research, and science and technology.
Flad held the 150th spot in ENR's Top 500 listing, which also includes major contractors and engineering firms. Flad came in at 47th in ENR's general building category, and 19th in its healthcare category.
